Finally a spring snowstorm worthy of another snowmobile trip

Snow levels have finally come back down to pass level, so my friend John and I went snowmobiling near Mt Hood on Sunday. We were the only ones at Skyline Sno Park. Most of the snow at pass level had melted since we were last up. But luckily there was enough new snow to cover the bare spots.

It was just below freezing and and snowing steady with moderate wind. We rode up towards High Rock where the fresh powder was deep and flying into my face. It was a blast. We continued down towards Hideaway Lake. Unfortunately the snow thinned out too much and we couldn't make it to the lake. We headed back to High Rock and rode around in the powder before heading back towards Clear Lake. The cache of firewood I left from our January snow camping trip was still there, so we built a fire and relaxed for a bit before heading home. What a great way to end the season.
