First camping trip in our new trailer - Fort Stevens State Park, OR

We finally received our new trailer we ordered in December. Our maiden trip was to Fort Stevens State Park during the annual Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival. Normally we have a bunch of friends who join us, but they all bailed this year. Instead Katie's mom my parents and sister from Nevada made the trek to join us for a fun weekend of camping. We took Friday and Monday off to make it a four day weekend.

My sister Jessica flew up from Reno and rode with us along with Katie's mom to Fort Stevens. My parents left with their fifth wheel a week or so ago and were camping their way along the Oregon Coast up to Fort Stevens to meet us. We arrived shortly after 11 AM and my parents showed up maybe 15 minutes after us. Let the fun begin!

This was our first camping trip in our new Flagstaff Shamrock 21DK (same thing as a Rockwood Roo, just different color). It's a 22' hybrid travel trailer meaning it has two queen beds that fold down in the front and back of the trailer. With the kitchen slide and the bed pop outs, it is very roomy for a small trailer.

We went to the Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival on Saturday morning. We arrived a little earlier than we have in the past and it wasn't as crowded until later in the day. We enjoyed good food and drink.

After we got back to camp we went fishing at Coffenbury Lake. It was slow fishing, but we caught a couple. Any fishing trip is better than working.

On Sunday we went exploring the local attractions: Battery Russell, Fort Stevens, and Peter Iredale shipwreck. Julian really enjoyed himself and said he wants to comeback again next year.

It was awesome having Katie's mom and my parents and sister join us this year. We had a great time together as always and it was fun seeing Julian hang out with "G3" and "Daddy's Dad". The weather wasn't half bad either. It was mostly dry during the daytime with rain holding off until night. Not a bad way to spend our first of many camping trips in our new trailer.
