Snowmobiling to Bonney Meadows
I found a new snowmobiler to ride with, Jon, through a mutual friend. We took advantage of a recent snow storm and met up at Frog Lake Sno Park, just East of Government Camp, Oregon. It wasn't busy when we arrived early in the morning and there was only a single set of tracks out of the Sno Park. It was a beautiful morning and the snow was fantastic. On our way to Bonney Meadows, the tracks quickly disappeared and we were the only ones around.
The snow was deep and a blast to ride through at Bonney Meadows. It's been awhile since I have snowmobiled in the Mt Hood area. Bonney Meadows is the place where I injured my knee snowmobiling years back.
My riding skills have improved (as well as my sled) a bit since then, but I was on the lookout for the deep holes that form in the warm spots in the meadow. When I injured my knee, I hit one of these holes and lost control. As luck would have it, I ended up finding a large hole and before I knew it was launching out of it and safely landing on the other side.
We had a great ride and I finally have enough miles on my new Polaris 800 Pro RMK snowmobile for it to be broken in. Let the snow keep coming.
