Tubing on the Columbia River
On Sunday we took our friends, Jordan and Melanie, out on our boat to have some fun on the Columbia River. It was busy, but still plenty of parking at Chinook Landing when we arrived around 10:30 am.
We headed upriver and found a spot to anchor downriver from Rooster Rock. We tossed the tube out and Julian had a blast just floating around.
Katie tried swimming, but the current was ripping where I had anchored us. So we were content to just hang on to the tube or boat when in the water.
After lunch, we pulled up the anchor and took turns getting pulled behind the boat. Julian, Katie, and Melanie were happy to just put along, but Jordan wanted a real ride. He hung on tight and didn't fall off.
By the time we made it back to Chinook Landing the place was a zoo. We had to wait a bit for a lane to open up, but soon we had the boat back on the trailer. It was a fun trip with friends and hopefully next time Jordan's son Lincoln can join us.
